Brooklyn Robot Foundry
Brooklyn Robot Foundry is an online platform for physical space, where children have the opportunity to learn basic STEAM concepts by building robots hands-on. They and Haptik carried out branding and packaging revision design in order to reach a wider audience through family education.

brand
Build brands—and packaging boxes-to help children make robots.
We work with BRF companies every week to understand their goals and processes. We also participated in some courses to fully experience the magic of robot production.
With these experiences, we understand a simple truth: let us build a learning-oriented brand together, just like the Brooklyn Robot Foundry. The teachers of BRF have made more than 500 kinds of robots, all of which are made of common parts and hardware line materials, which has deeply inspired us. We are also interested in the manufacturing process of robots. In this process, children can learn advanced STEAM concepts, make and decorate ROBOTS as they please, and learn in a supportive and cooperative environment.

We have carried out a complete re-branding, including logo, color, font, copywriting, brand identity and original robot illustrations. We drew illustrations for the six colorful cartoon robots and multiple parts and tools selected by the BRF team, and wrote a simple story about robots working together to achieve common goals. At the same time, in terms of packaging, we designed three main boxes, a glue gun box and a mug box. Illustrations are also applied to the included cards, stickers, and activity sheets.

packaging
Why not make something to stimulate their creativity?
The BRF team needs flexible, stable and interactive packaging. Because the courses are extremely diverse, we need boxes to hold these countless parts, tools and accessories. BRF students are good at using cardboard boxes to get creative and are known for it. The cardboard box is a canvas that can be decorated to the fullest, a bridge connecting parts, and can also be used as a landing point for flying robots. Our goal is to launch suitable packaging boxes to support the company's tasks. We also hope that when children go down the stairs, they can feel excited and look forward to seeing these cartons placed at the door.

The design concept of the final product is to arouse the interest of children before the course begins. The six chapters of the story are printed on each side of the box, and each mezzanine has small activities or usage guidelines. Children can see Bessie, Papi, Art, Proby, Rob, and Bambino working together to make a sign in a foundry on Brooklyn Street with the slogan BRF: "Let's make it together happily!" 」

We have created an additional sticker marking system to improve children's completion. There are stickers on the inside and outside of the package, with opening instructions and course information. These stickers encourage children to pick up the screwdriver and open the lid by themselves, so that they can adapt to this main tool early before the course starts.
After the course starts, children can use existing cartons and shoelaces to make their own mobile phone or tablet stand. There are pre-made holes in these cartons, as well as an instruction card from Bisi. These existing objects can immediately give children a sense of accomplishment. The adjustable shoelaces are used to make the device lean forward and become a camera overlooking the viewing angle. When the teacher asks to show the work, the child's results can be clearly viewed.

Photography animation
The name itself says it all: the Brooklyn Robot Foundry leads children to make robots to teach them how to be creative.
And they are not ordinary robots, but magical and interesting works that can move, jump, rotate and shine, full of unique and extraordinary meanings, which can satisfy all curious and exploring minds. This is what we realized when we photographed the packaging, parts, and the robot itself.
In a neutral context, we have reproduced the characteristics of the BRF project "orderly in chaos". Creators let go to create their own world; the carton is transformed into a building for robots to explore, or it becomes a canvas to give full play to the creativity of stickers and hand-painted.
We also emphasize the details of the packaging, and the customized features give life to the cardboard while promoting a brilliant course experience.
